Tax Registration
Learn how to register your tax information when creating a CSP account or when using the CSP.
For better security and supplier experience, working with the Coupa Supplier Portal (CSP) requires tax registration. Registered tax information prevents you from creating duplicate CSP accounts, which helps your customers find and connect with you faster.
Tax information is requested when you create a CSP account or when you log in.
If you do not register your tax information by November 1, 2024, you can access only the CSP homepage.
Before November 1, 2024, when you log in to the CSP, you can see "Tax Registration Required" notifications daily informing you when the registration is expected and allowing you to request a reminder, where to register your tax information, or which admin users you can contact to do it if you don't have the necessary permission.
When registering your tax information, you don't need to provide your tax ID if you type a reason.
You need to provide the following tax information:
-
Primary Country/Region for your tax ID.
-
Tax ID, for example, for the United States, a 9 digit number issued by the IRS: TIN (companies), EIN (individuals - preferred), or SSN (individuals).
Depending on the selected country/region, the Tax ID field name changes to VAT ID for EU countries, ABN for Australia, TRN for South Africa, IRD Number for New Zealand, and TAX Registration for other countries. The tooltip (info icon) provides the relevant description.
If no country is specified, the field name is Tax Registration and the tooltip says "The unique business identification ID issued by your country’s government. In many cases, this is a tax ID."
You can select the I do not have a Tax ID checkbox and provide a reason.
You can provide or update your tax registration information also on your Company Profile page, where you can add multiple tax registrations.
The tax registration information from the CSP profile is copied to SIM.
