sslv3 handshake failure

Punchout failed: Connection reset by peer - SSL_connect, or SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 status=SSLv3 read server hello A: sslv3 handshake failure

Cause

The supplier is using an SSL version that Coupa does not support or that has not been configured.

To reproduce, click on the punchout supplier link and receive the SSL error in Coupa.

Solution

  • Coupa servers support the TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 protocol for HTTPS connections.
  • If the supplier supports SSLv3 and not TLS, you receive an SSLv3 error at the time of punchout, and you need to specify SSLv3 for the SSL version on the Punchout Setup screen in Coupa.
