Account Validation Requirements for Supplier Payment Accounts

Review the minimum requirements for creating your remit-to account for payments.

When you create a remit-to account, you often need to complete banking information. This article describes the minimum requirements for setting your bank account for payment, but your customer may require additional information to be provided to them for confirming the validity of your account. All bank account remit-to details must be approved by your customer prior to receiving payment to them. For more information about remit-to accounts, see View and Manage Remit-to Information.

Required Information

The table below outlines the required information for remit-to accounts according to the account country and currency. Here are a few tips for understanding the information you provide when configuring your accounts:

  • Bank Account Country and Bank Account Currency determine what other fields are required and the format of some of those other numbers.
  • Account Number / IBAN: The number of digits varies for different banking systems across the world. Hover over the information icon for guidance on length.
  • Transit Code: Depending on country and currency combination, this can be Routing Number, Bank Code, BSB, IFSC, Sort Code, or Transit/Institution Number.
  • SWIFT / BIC Code: The Society of Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) code or Business Identifier Code (BIC) has 8 or 11 alphanumeric characters (first 6 must be letters) and is required to receive money internationally.
  • Phone Number: The country code is required and must match the selected country.
  • Depending on the country and currency combination, additional information might be required (in other words, Tax ID, Contact Information).
  • Do not use dashes (hyphens) in account numbers, routing numbers, sort codes or other fields.
Tip

To avoid additional wire and banking fees, set your bank account currency to match your home country currency. Your invoice currency must match the currency of your bank account to process payments successfully.
